On Wednesday (10), the All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) achieved a significant milestone by crossing the 12,000-point mark. This marks the first instance of the ASPI surpassing the 12,000-point threshold since February 21, 2022.
At the close of trading on that day, the ASPI stood at 12,033.10 points, reflecting a notable increase of 0.59% (70.61 points) compared to the previous day’s figures.
Market activity remained robust, with over 86 million shares traded throughout the day, resulting in a total market turnover of Rs. 2.96 billion.
In parallel, the S&P SL20 index also exhibited positive movement, closing at 3,580.64 points. This represented a gain of 0.95% (33.81 points) from the previous day’s closing figures.
